Your wedding day is one of the most significant moments of your life, and it deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest. I'm sure you've been to a wedding (or two) that you felt like was just a show or performance to show off how much money that they had. After attending and documenting *tons* of weddings, we've written down our favorite ways and pro tips to ENJOY your wedding day
1. Don't leave each other's side
Once you two have officially tied the knot, don't leave each other's side. Wherever your husband goes, you go too! If your new bride is wanting to dance, for the love of all that is holy: DANCE WITH HER! Want to go and chit-chat with all of your beloved guests? Amazing! Go together. You won't regret it... trust me.
2. Take time to breathe
Soak in every moment. Constantly remind each other, "wow, today is really the day. It's the first day of the rest of our lives". You don't want to look back and wonder where the time went. If you don't take the time to pause, take a breather and remain fully present, it'll fly by. Good thing you'll have amazing photos and a video to look back on to help you remember though ;) Speaking of that...
3. Capture precious memories with professional photography and videography
Whether you hire us as your wedding photographer and videographer or someone else, please please please make sure that they are people that you vibe with. You're going to be spending basically the entire day with them... or us hehe. You're going to want to know that you get along; that they're someone you can laugh with, cry with, and ultimately be completely vulnerable around them. We, as the wedding crew, are the fly on the walls in almost every private moment. We're there for the first look, private vows read allowed, the ones reminding you to stay present and hyping you up during your sunset session.
4. Have your cake and eat it too!! <3
Listen y'all... eat the dang food! You bought it, so do us all a favor and enjoy it. If you have to do that by having a private dinner in the bridal suite, then please do so. Oh and hey, you deserve more than just one bite of your cake. I personally vote that you bring a whole slice to the dance floor.
5. Choose your bridal party wisely.
I get it. You have a ton of friends and you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or maybe "you've known them the longest so you 'have to' ask them". Girl, you don't "have" to do anything that you don't want to. Imagine dancing the night away... who is dancing next to you? Who will always hype you up and encourage you along the way? Leave the drama sisters at home okay!!
6. Create enough space in your timeline to enjoy every moment
Here at Tomblin Photo and Film, we are firm believers in designing a timeline that promotes a stress-free day. There is no need in rushing from moment to moment, unable to take a breath. The more stress-free your day can be, the more likely you'll be able to enjoy your intimate moments with each other.
7. This is your day, not someone else's
If you want to elope in Banff National Park or in the mountains of Colorado, do that! If your vibe is more of a white church chapel in East Texas, then please, choose that. You don't have to invite the 300 people in your grandmother's phone book if you don't want to. So many people have so many opinions when planning a wedding, but just remember, this day is about you and the union of your new spouse. Make choices that you love and that reflect you two.
8. The DJ won't be there all night, so dance!
My favorite weddings are the ones where the bride and groom were on the dance floor every chance they got! If you're wanting to say hi to everyone, a great option to consider would be to stand at the exit of the ceremony and greet your guests as they head to the cocktail hour. This will clear up more time later in the evening for you to enjoy and dance with all of your bffs!!
9. Delegate and trust.
Choose your wedding vendors with confidence, knowing that they understand your vision and can execute their roles. Delegate tasks to reliable people so you can relax and enjoy the day worry-free.
10. Sneak away for a moment just you two
Add this to our list of reasons why we love a good sunset session. This allows time for you two to sneak away and feel alllllll the romantic feelings that come with this beautiful day.
Your wedding day is a celebration of love and commitment, and these tips will help you make the most of every moment. By planning ahead, embracing personal touches, and prioritizing enjoyment, you'll ensure your wedding day is not just beautiful but truly unforgettable.
Whether you're planning your wedding in Texas, Greece, Nashville or Destin, remember to prioritize hiring skilled professionals for photography and videography. Their expertise will capture the essence of your day, allowing you to relive these cherished moments for years to come.
